Autism Learning Partners (formerly Pacific Child & Family Associates) began offering services to children with autism and other development disabilities, and their families, in 1988. The company was an early proponent of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and quickly adopted this clinical methodology as the cornerstone of its services to children and families. Autism Learning Partners now offers treatment services in many states across the US, collaborating with doctors, therapists, families, schools, and specialists for complete, effective care.

Alison (Ali) Nalivaika is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst and a Licensed Behavior Analyst in the state of Massachusetts. She graduated from the University of Maine with a Bachelors in Communication Sciences and Disorders and a minor in Child Development and Family Relations. She furthered her education at Bay Path University, where she obtained her Masters of Science in Applied Behavior Analysis in 2016. Ali is has experience working in both residential and home based settings with individuals ranging from 2-18 years old and has provided ABA services to families and individuals with disabilities since 2014. She was born and raised in Worcester, MA and is excited to serve her hometown with the quality service and care that Autism Learning Partners strives to provide.
Cara has been working in the field of Applied Behavior Analysis for over 10 years. She completed her qualifications through the University of Auckland in New Zealand, where she conducted a Masters level research thesis in the area of vocal stereotypy. Cara has provided ABA services within New Zealand, Abu Dhabi, the Cayman Islands and the United States. She has worked within homes, centers, schools and under Government contracts.
Cara is passionate about providing high quality, family-focused intervention. She believes that parent involvement and healthy clinical relationships create strong learning environments, which can lead to greater outcomes.
Cara grew up in Auckland, New Zealand and has been a Massachusetts resident for the past 2 years
Erin has provided ABA services to families and individuals with disabilities since 2008. She has worked in local schools, outpatient centers and homes applying the principals of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). The emerging field of ABA has lead Erin to think outside the box and provide her clients with creative approaches to program and skill building. Therapy sessions might take place in your home or community, depending on what the ALP Clinical team recommends. Each session, a Behavior Technician will work one-on-one with your child, targeting individualized goals embedded into fun and functional activities. Sessions can last 2-4 hours depending on your child’s needs. Parent training is always a part of the treatment plan, as we want you to have that support.
The medical diagnosis must come from a diagnostic provider, such as a Primary Care Physician or Psychologist. Unfortunately, an IEP will not suffice on its own. A diagnostic evaluation, like the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule (ADOS), would need to be completed.
We use evidence based behavior analytic techniques. The specific techniques implemented by the ALP Clinical team are entirely dependent on your child and the goals identified during the assessment. Your Clinical Supervisor will discuss the techniques more during the assessment. It’s important to our clinical teams that the right techniques are selected for your child. There are no one size fits all.
Yes, if it is considered medically necessary by the ALP Clinical team, the school district allows, and the insurance provider approves. We will collaborate with the education team to build a comprehensive plan for your child.
ALP’s Social Skills Groups are led by experienced and trained staff to facilitate healthy peer relationships, teach coping mechanisms, and provide tools to cope with social changes and learning healthy choices for emotional expression. Parental involvement is crucial to the generalization and maintenance of skills children will learn. Parents are trained in using techniques that are demonstrated in Social Skills Groups.
