Center-based ABA services allow your child to learn a variety of skills in a structured environment. This setting enables generalization of skills in a less familiar environment.
Home-based ABA services allow teaching to occur in the child’s natural environment and incorporates learning within the child’s natural routine
Research indicates that early, high intensity intervention, often birth to five years old may have the best outcomes for improving your child’s development.
If your child needs a diagnosis, we’ll connect you with a diagnostician near you who can conduct an evaluation and provide you with all the documents that will be needed to move forward.
Achievement in the domain of social interaction greatly improves the quality of life for a learner and we place a premium on screening, assessment, and individually tailored interventions.
It has been proven that parents who are actively involved in their child’s therapy often see more progress in their children. Our clinical team is trained to build success for the entire family unit.

Autism Learning Partners (formerly Pacific Child & Family Associates) began offering services to children with autism and other development disabilities, and their families, in 1988. The company was an early proponent of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and quickly adopted this clinical methodology as the cornerstone of its services to children and families. Autism Learning Partners now offers treatment services in many states across the US, collaborating with doctors, therapist, families, schools, and specialists for complete, effective care.
The mission of Autism Learning Partners is to provide the highest level of clinical expertise to facilitate significant and sustainable improvement for the individuals and families we serve.
Autism Learning Partners strives to give hope, support and paths of progress for children and their families living with Autism and related disorders. We believe that a tailored, comprehensive care plan managed by our exceptional clinical talent, partnered with love and commitment from the family, allows each child to achieve their maximum potential.
Kara has her Bachelor's Degree in psychology from Daemen College and a Masters Degree in applied behavior analysis from The University of Cincinnati. Kara began working in the field of ABA as a 1:1 behavior technician in 2013 and started with Autism Learning Partners as a behavior technician in 2014. She quickly gained experience working with different developmental disabilities and mainly Autism Spectrum Disorders across numerous setting such as in home, schools, communities, etc. Kara became a Board Certified Behavior Analyst in 2016 and obtained her New York State Licensed shortly after that. In 2017, Kara became the Associate Clinical Director of our Buffalo, NY region and now has transitioned to the Clinical Director role of our three New York regions and our Maryland region. Kara reports that her passion for the field has grown through her years here at ALP due to ALP's commitment to their core values they exude to their staff and the clients that form the ALP community. She most values the lessons and connections she made when working 1:1 with clients as a behavior technician and strongly feels that she is better able to appreciate everyone on her team's hard work because of this. Kara believes that working as a team and involving parents in their child's progress will help each client reach their full potential. There is no better feeling than seeing a client progress and how proud that makes each employee and caregiver involved.

The medical diagnosis must come from a diagnostic provider, such as a Primary Care Physician or Psychologist. Unfortunately, an IEP will not suffice on its own. A diagnostic evaluation, like the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule (ADOS), would need to be completed.
Therapy sessions could take place in your home, community, or center environment, depending on what the ALP Clinical team recommends, and if the school and insurance provides approval.
Yes, if it is considered medically necessary by the ALP Clinical team, the school district allows, and the insurance provider approves. We will collaborate with the education team to build a comprehensive plan for your child.
