Early Intervention

Because the early years of a child’s life are critical in brain development, it is vital for parents and providers to understand the available evidence-based practices, such as Applied Behavior Analysis, and the appropriate service options and treatment settings available. At Autism Learning Partners, we offer a developmental early intervention half- and full-day program. We use an in-house curriculum that is informed by best practices across the industry to meet your child’s needs.

Beginning a Path of Progress

Research indicates that early, high intensity intervention, often birth to five years old may have the best outcomes for improving your child’s development. Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is the only therapy approved by the U.S. Surgeon General in the treatment of autism spectrum disorders.

Learning Opportunities to Promote Active Engagement and Social Speech

We provide an enriched environment for children benefiting from a systematic approach to gaining skills (e.g. attending, following group instructions, observing). We nurture self-expression, encourage exploration to promote spontaneous speech, create social opportunities with peers of similar age, and prepare your child for group-learning environments.

We use natural environment training, which uses a child’s preferred activities to teach foundational skills. For young children, this is play. Our clinical staff are trained to follow your child’s lead while they play with items and objects and use these as opportunities to teach important skills.

Tracking Milestones

When your child receives early intervention services at Autism Learning Partners, a dedicated trained clinical team is assigned to your child. Your team reviews developmental milestones and tracks the progress of learning new skills. When a deficiency is detected early by our behavior professional, there is an improved likelihood of reducing this deficiency with dedicated support. With caregiver collaboration, we discuss your child’s development and progress on goals during regularly scheduled meetings.

The medical diagnosis must come from a diagnostic provider, such as a Primary Care Physician or Psychologist. Unfortunately, an IEP will not suffice on its own. A diagnostic evaluation, like the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule (ADOS), would need to be completed.

We are very excited to announce a center coming soon to Round Rock, TX in early 2022!

ALP’s Social Skills Groups are led by experienced and trained staff to facilitate healthy peer relationships, teach coping mechanisms, and provide tools to cope with social changes and learning healthy choices for emotional expression. Parental involvement is crucial to the generalization and maintenance of skills children will learn. Parents are trained in using techniques that are demonstrated in Social Skills Groups.
