Autism Learning Partners is proud to partner with Washington Medicaid to serve Apple Health beneficiaries. We are contracted with all five Managed Care Organizations. Whether your family is assigned to Amerigroup, Community Health Plan of Washington, Coordinated Care of Washington, Molina Healthcare of Washington, or UnitedHealthcare Community Plan we’re here to help! Our Intake team can walk you through the requirements to access ABA per your specific health plan assignment, but all will require an autism diagnosis made by an MD or Psychologist within the last 24 months. If your child’s diagnosis was made more than 24 months ago, a recently dated note from your doctor recommending ABA therapy will typically suffice. If your child has not yet been diagnosed with autism and you are seeking an evaluation, please contact our Intake team today for a list of Center of Excellence providers in your area.

Cayla Morimoto M.Ed., BCBA, LBA

Senior Clinical Director

Cayla has worked in special education as an early intervention parent coach, special education teacher, resource coordinator, and behavior analyst. She appreciates the many roles she has worked to best understand the need for collaboration and consistency in our kids' lives.

Cayla graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor's in Psychology & Education, then the University of Washington in Seattle with a Master's in Early Childhood Special Education. She has worked in both inclusive and specialized settings for children of all abilities, but she has always found herself returning to work specifically with children on the Autism Spectrum. She truly believes that children do well if they can, and she has found her role to be supporting students and families to build the necessary skills to be their best selves.

"Imperfections are not inadequacies; they are reminders that we are all in this together." - Brené Brown

Therapy sessions might take place in your home or community, depending on what the ALP Clinical team recommends. Each session, a Behavior Technician will work one-on-one with your child, targeting individualized goals embedded into fun and functional activities. Sessions can last 2-4 hours depending on your child’s needs. Parent training is always a part of the treatment plan, as we want you to have that support.

The medical diagnosis must come from a diagnostic provider, such as a Primary Care Physician or Psychologist. Unfortunately, an IEP will not suffice on its own. A diagnostic evaluation, like the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule (ADOS), would need to be completed.

We do not currently have a center in the Bellingham area, but please check back for any updates.

We use evidence based behavior analytic techniques. The specific techniques implemented by the ALP Clinical team are entirely dependent on your child and the goals identified during the assessment. Your Clinical Supervisor will discuss the techniques more during the assessment. It’s important to our clinical teams that the right techniques are selected for your child. There are no one size fits all.
