What is the ADOS-2 Assessment?
Autism affects 1 in 44 children. Early diagnosis and intervention lead to significantly improved outcomes. Early diagnosis allows families to plan, identify an effective treatment, and begin learning how to support skill development for their child. Early intervention can address developmental areas of concern such as play, social, communication, cognitive, daily living, and problem behaviors.
Direct Observation Session
The assessment involves a 1-1.5 hour direct observation that includes social situations and is used for all ages. Our qualified professional will work with you following the assessment to assist with next steps to complete the evaluation.
The Four Modules
Module 1: for individuals with little or no phrase speech. Some examples include response to name, social smile, and free play.
Module 2: for individuals who do use phrase speech, but do not speak fluently. Additionally, the ability to walk is generally taken as a minimum developmental requirement for module 1 and 2.
Module 3: for younger children who are verbally fluent. This can include reciprocal play and communication, exhibition of empathy, or comments on others' emotions.
Module 4: for adolescents and adults who are verbally fluent.
Yes. We offer onsite diagnostic services in several of our regions. Please contact our intake department to determine if your region offers onsite diagnostic services or to request a list of diagnostic community partners in your area at (855) 465-4845 ext. 276.
Yes. Each ALP region employs BCBAs (Board Certified Behavior Analysts) and master’s level Supervisors who oversee all clinical operations. Additionally, our Behavior Technicians who carry out the daily treatment programs receive a comprehensive training program along with regular supervision, support and ongoing training by our senior clinical staff.
Yes. Your designated clinical supervisor will review our Client Partnership Agreement with you in person and introduce you to our treatment approach. You will have the opportunity to meet the rest of your team as they work with you and become familiar with your child.
Yes. We require parents to commit to what is medically necessary for their child to make progress. Your BCBA will prescribe a level of service (number of weekly hours) based on your child’s individual needs that will lead to the best opportunity for behavioral improvements.
Yes. If it is considered medically necessary and is a service recommended by your ALP clinical staff, we can. Additionally, your insurance company must approve it and your school must approve ALP staff can be on school premises with your child.
Yes. We regularly provide sessions on weekends. ABA is a daily treatment program and we offer some of those hours on weekends. Before treatment begins, our client services team will inform you about the options that are available and finalize your schedule with you.
At many locations we offer clinic and home-based services, however, not all locations have a clinic at this time. Please reach out to your Intake Coordinator for more information regarding the services that are available in your area.
I already have an ABA provider. Can I still enroll in Social Skills Groups with Autism Learning Partners?
It is possible, but you will need to contact your insurance plan. Many insurance providers do not approve more than one authorization for treatment in this area. Please check with your specific provider for their rules and guidelines.
In order for a child to make progress, family participation is a vital component. Your clinical team will recommend a level of participation they determine is necessary. We encourage parents to sit-in on sessions as often as they can. You are not required to participate in all ABA sessions, however, a caregiver over the age of 18 must be at home for the duration of each session. For clinic-based appointments, the child may be dropped off.
No. Your Behavior Technician can accompany your family for a clinically recommended trip in a family vehicle. BTs are prohibited from driving the child in any vehicle, even if a parent or guardian is present in the car.
